“There is nothing deeper than the skin».
Paul Válery, The Fixed Idea
My work in shape of sculptures is like a journey. A metaphorical journey about feeling, mistaking, learning and understanding from the matter, within the matter: perception, knowledge and what is in between. The ideas of absurd structures and senseless order in the world, the inadequacy of language, nature as chaos, the poetics of invisibility, the dilemma of intuition, the uncanny and obscure side of human mind, are some of the issues that more concern me. Through the exploration of materials, sounds and words (their possibilities, their limits) I suggest to myself (and perhaps to others, as in a imaginary dialogue) endless questions, eager to escape time as a mental flow, as obsession, to create an evocative and meditative space. The intention to create an object becomes the intention to show just a surface of something else: an unconceivable plan, another unknown story that deserves to be told, a place that exists only if we believe so, a poem to sing with the eyes.
